MTU Maintenance Elevates USM Engine Parts Sourcing with SkySelect

However, their traditional sourcing methods, which involved manual outreach to suppliers and tracking quotes through spreadsheets, were proving increasingly cumbersome. This approach was time-intensive, leading to potential missed opportunities for cost savings.

To address these challenges, MTU Maintenance sought a solution that could enhance efficiency, reduce the cognitive burden on its procurement team, and improve overall sourcing effectiveness. The answer came in the form of a partnership with SkySelect. The organization has a proven track record in driving digital transformation across MRO service providers and airlines worldwide.

By integrating SkySelect’s platform into their operations, MTU Maintenance has successfully digitalized a critical part of their procurement process. The MTU team has streamlined and accelerated their sourcing activities, drastically reducing the time required to obtain and evaluate quotes. Specifically, the time spent sourcing quotes from suppliers was reduced by 20%, allowing the team to operate with greater speed and precision.

Moreover, the platform’s effectiveness in fostering competition among suppliers was evident. An impressive 80% of part numbers (PNs) received at least three viable quotes, giving MTU Maintenance access to better pricing options for their high-value engine parts.
